PRACTICE MANAGEMENT

BUSINESS

The business plan: a route map to raising finance

Ken Garvie

RAISING finance for your practice is one of the most daunting yet critical aspects of veterinary self-employment. Where to go, how to get lenders interested and, most importantly, how to get the best deal, are some of the questions you may need to think about.

Ken Garvie is a business development manager in Stoke-on-Trent. He joined Lloyds TSB 20 years ago and has spent the last 12 working in corporate and business banking. He has considerable experience in the professional and healthcare sectors, particularly the veterinary sector. Away from work, his interests include DIY, golf and following Stoke City (for his sins).
