Vets on track: working as a greyhound vet

Jacqui Molyneux

FOR the past eight years, Jacqui Molyneux has worked as a `vet in attendance' for a greyhound racing track. Here, she provides an insight into what this demanding, yet rewarding, area of practice activity entails.

Jacqui Molyneux qualified from Bristol in 1981. She initially entered small animal practice in Liverpool and later moved to County Durham. In 1984, she started a practice in the former steelworks town of Consett. In 2000, she gained the RCVS certificate in small animal surgery. Her practice holds a contract with Brough Park Stadium, in Newcastle.
