On becoming a vet ... part 2

Julian Hoad 1 and Wendy Harrison 2

1 South London
2 RCVS council; BVA:AWF

IN the second part of this series, which catches up with past winners of the Vet Drug/Genusxpress ‘student of the year’ award, Julian Hoad, one of the winners in 1996, describes how his early years in practice proved to be a mixed experience, both professionally and personally. Meanwhile, on page 48, Wendy Harrison, a prize winner in 1997, describes how, from the word go, she set off to pursue some of the various options - in research as well as in practice - that a veterinary degree has to offer.
