THE 'quality' of something is notoriously difficult to define, yet the quality of care, a service or a product is often referred to as a means of recommendation to others. In the human health care professions, clinical audit is now an accepted method of evaluating how well something is done and where there might be room for improvement. In this article, Kim Rayment looks at the process of clinical audit and suggests ways in which it might be extrapolated to veterinary practice.
