ALL general practitioners are aware of the need for a referral service for their patients. This need varies depending on the nature of the case, and the choices available to the practitioner are developing rapidly. In order to make the process of referral as straightforward as possible, it is important, says John Bower, that both the practitioner and the referral veterinarian understand what sort of information each requires.
