A guide to the investigation of porcine abortion/stillbirth

Alex Barlow MSc1

1 Langford VI Centre

WHEN beginning any investigation into porcine abortion/stillbirth it is important to recognise that a number of different factors may be involved, either alone or in combination. The level of investigation undertaken will obviously depend on the seriousness of the problem. It could range from checking the clinical history, which might indicate an obvious fault, through to a thorough laboratory work-up on a number of submissions.
