Small animal practice - where next?

THE small animal sector is by far the largest in the UK veterinary practice scene, accounting for some 70 per cent of all fees earned. The trend towards practices dealing entirely with small animal work is now well established and the size of these dedicated practices has steadily increased. Now, with the perceived threat of competition from pet superstores and the like, it is time for small animal practices to reconsider their position and, as some have already done, to face up to the competition.
