Profit sharing schemes

A variety of bonus incentive schemes have been introduced over the years by veterinary practices for veterinary and support staff. More recently there has been a movement away from annual pay awards linked to inflation and automatically paid to all employees; the trend is towards variable annual pay increases which are performance-related and made only after a full appraisal of each employee. In this article JOHN GRIPPER assesses the pros and cons of profit sharing schemes
