Many practitioners may feel that ‘things are worse’ now than a few years ago; but, says DIXON GUNN, trends derived from a comparison of the BVA-SPVS Survey results spanning 1985 to 1991 suggest that financial returns are no worse now than in 1985 and that net profit has increased faster than inflation.
